Farewell to Francesco Nuti. The Tuscan actor and director died in Rome at the age of 68. He had been ill for some time. After making his debut in the entertainment world when he was still a student, towards the end of the 1970s he joined the Giancattivi cabaret trio – together with Alessandro Benvenuti and Athina Cenci – replacing Antonio Catalano. He made his film debut in 1981 in ‘West of Paperino’, directed by Alessandro Benvenuti. Then many successful comedies, from ‘Madonna, what silence is tonight’ and ‘Io, Chiara e lo Scuro’, both directed by Maurizio Ponzi in 1982, passing through ‘Casablanca, Casablanca’ (1985), the first film from he directed, ‘Caruso Pascoski (of a Polish father)’ (1988), ‘Willy Signori and I come from afar’ (1989), ‘Women with skirts’ (1991), ‘OcchioPinocchio’ (1994), ‘Mr. (1998). A great lover of billiards, taught to him by his father, he brought this game to several of his films, with scenes and jokes that went down in cinema history. (LaPresse)
