Honda has announced the introduction of electric two-wheelers within this financial year.
Demand for electric vehicles has increased in India following the rise in petrol and diesel prices. The federal government also announced plans to promote electric vehicles this fiscal.
Following this, automakers continue to introduce electric vehicles in India. It has been reported that Honda is going to introduce the electric version of the popular Activa scooter.
The Honda Activa is expected to be the first vehicle to be launched, with its chairman Atsushi Okada saying Honda will start manufacturing electric vehicles within the next financial year.
Honda’s electric motorcycle is expected to feature a number of features, including a swappable battery, fast charging technology, and a high-speed electric motor.
If Honda’s electric two-wheelers go on sale, it is said to be a strong competitor to the scooters currently on the market, including the Bajaj Sedak, TVS IQ and Ola S1.
