BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu said that if any party or organization thinks that communal riots will destroy the movement to restore democracy in the country, then they are thinking wrong. There is no way it will be possible. This country is the country of Muslim-Hindu-Buddhist-Christian. Everyone lives together here.

He said these things at a protest meeting at Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad auditorium on Topkhana Road in the capital on Monday (April 29). The meeting was organized by ‘Desh Bachao Manhoob Bachao Andolan’ to protest against the blueprint for spreading religious hatred across the country and the killing of workers in Madhukhali, Faridpur.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu said that Bangladesh is passing through a transitional period. This country has drifted away from what it was founded on. Bangladesh was founded primarily for democracy and human rights. We acquired this country for an ocean of blood. Although it may seem surprising, the reality is that the people of this country have no rights. The people of this country will vote for the candidate of their choice, elect their representative – they do not have that right. Fascism is something that ignores the opinion of the majority. Does not bring the majority into the situation. That is, the vote is not needed, so the majority is not needed either. Majority is ignored everywhere religious, political and voting. The country has been led into such a dire situation that it is difficult to get out of it. Everyone has to work together to get out of this difficult situation. Democracy should be brought back to the country by cooperating with BNP.

The former president of the Chhatra Dal said that those who have been in jail know how much suffering there is in jail. There may be a slight difference between a general jail and a division jail. National leader Begum Khaleda Zia has been in jail for the past six years. Many say that he is at home. But, no it’s not a house, it’s also a prison.

He said, those who are or were in jail, and those who were outside, none of them were at peace. We have to put these sufferings in one place. We are not talking about revenge or revenge, we want our rights back.

This leader of BNP said that two boys were killed in Faridpur. Killed two children of a family. That family has been destroyed. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians live together in this country. If any party in this country respects Muslims-Hindus-Buddhists-Christians, it is Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP. If anyone thinks that communal riots will derail the movement to restore democracy in the country, then they are wrong. It’s not possible. There was a war in this country in 1971 for democracy and we won that war.

He said, this government is not a responsible government. To establish democracy in the country, an accountable government must be formed. Fascism is not accountable. They fear the election. Bringing back elections and democracy is now the most urgent task.

Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, today nature is using the enemy with us. If there was an accountable government, I think nature would be kinder. This government has cut down the trees and destroyed them. There is no accountability. If a democratic and accountable government was established, this tree cutting and forest destruction would have been avoided. Nature was no longer hostile to us.

Presided over by Desh Bachao, Manhoob Bachao Andolan president KM Rokibul Islam Ripon and moderated by Acting General Secretary Raju Ahmed, the protest meeting was also attended by BNP’s Dhaka metropolitan convenor Abdus Salam, BNP Chairperson’s advisor Habibur Rahman Habib, AB Party member secretary Mojibur Rahman Manju, National Democratic Party (JAGPA) vice-president Rashed Pradhan, Muktijoddha party’s organizational secretary Md. Anwar, Member Secretary of Public Rights Council Farooq Hasan, Advocate Md. Abdur Rahim Mia, Gias Uddin Khokon and others.
