STORY – The former world champion, a figure in the peloton of the 1950s and 1960s, will be honored this Tuesday for the 4th stage of the Tour, starting from Dax.

In Dax, the Tour will visit a monument this Tuesday. André Darrigade (94 years old), a figure in the peloton of the 1950s and 1960s. He was the “Lévrier des Landes”, a blond arrow at the top of the famous, feared speed, released with elegance. It tells of a Tour de France in black and white which paraded to the rhythm of Yvette Horner’s accordion. His faithful memory allows him to slip into it the vivid color of feelings and deep emotion at a time when the Tour comes to him: “I am very happy, very honored, very touched.
