The murder of the late Sapir Nahum: Her partner will be brought in for a hearing to extend his detention

by time news

The murder investigation continues: Walla Khalaila, the partner of the late Sapir Nahum, and the main suspect in her abduction and murder, will be brought to court today (Sunday) at around 13:00, where the police will probably ask to extend his detention for another five days, updating the court on the progress of the investigation. In addition, the police are expected to note that in the next hearing, a prosecutor’s statement will be filed against Khalaila, signed by the State Attorney’s Office.

The police estimate, in view of the location made to Khalaila’s phone, that he was at the place where the body of the late Nahum was found, near the time she disappeared. The suspect’s cell phone has disappeared, and it is not in the hands of police investigators.

The suspect’s brother was sent under house arrest last week, with Khalaila himself still continuing to be the main suspect in the murder investigation. Moreover, according to security cameras, he was the last person to meet her and put her in his car, before her traces were lost.

For many days, large police forces worked to track down the late Nahum, and after about a week and a half of searching, her body was found at the bottom of an old water well, in the northern village of Ibtin, in a rocky area that vehicles cannot reach.
