The murder of the real estate developer who came out of prayer in the synagogue: The head of the Homicide Unit in Central District, Corporal David Benno, admitted that the footage from the security cameras at the scene of the murder was lost, this was revealed this evening (Sunday) for the first time in ‘Khan Haudas’.

A year after the serious murder in the city of Rehovot, a memorandum was revealed from material in the investigation, in which the head of the homicide department admits to losing material from the investigation: “On October 15, 2022, I received a disk and due to workload, the disk was left on my desk until Sunday, without putting it on the computer and checking its contents.” Cpl. David Benno said.

He also said: “I was told by my husband which videos are on the disc – documentation from the cameras of the agricultural farm (where the murder took place). The disc has not been located to this day.”

According to this testimony, it turns out that the police lost the so-called “golden vision” in the murder case, what remains is only the documentation of Perry leaving the morning prayer in the synagogue.

The police stated in response: “These are recycled and baseless claims. Contrary to what has been claimed, there is and was no documentation of the murder. The issue of the documentation was examined and approved by the prosecutor’s office and as evidence – is included in the evidence.”

As I recall and as reported in detail in the Shabbat Square, the prosecutor’s office submitted to the Central District Court an indictment against Daniel Kider (64) from Rishon Lezion, for murder under aggravated circumstances of the late real estate man Eldad Perry.

The background to the murder was due to Daniel Kider’s disappointment with a real estate project belonging to the deceased – and Kider purchased an apartment there for him and his son. Kider is accused that after a long period in which he carried out surveillance and observations to learn about Perry’s daily life, he arrived outside the synagogue where Perry used to pray, There he shot seven bullets at close range.

According to the indictment, filed by attorney Gilad Ehrlich from the Central Prosecutor’s Office, in 2018 the defendant joined a purchasing group that organized the construction of a residential building in the city of Lod. The defendant paid the deceased an amount of approximately NIS 2.2 million in advance for two apartments, relying on a personal guarantee of fruit

During the months of September-October 2020, an insolvency application was filed against Perry’s real estate group, as well as against Perry himself, including his personal assets.

As part of the work of the trustees, the court approved an outline for the restoration of the project in which the defendant invested, in which the defendant was required to pay an additional amount of approximately 1.4 million NIS in order to receive the apartments he had purchased.

Following the court’s decision, the defendant began to monitor and observe Perry, when among other things he used to come to his residence in the early morning hours, observe his house and study his life routine. During his observations, the accused learned that Perry usually frequents the synagogue. One morning, the defendant arrived at the synagogue parking lot riding a motorcycle he owns, with his license plate hidden and armed with his personal gun. The defendant waited for the fruit until he arrived at the synagogue, then shot him seven bullets from a very close range, killing him on the spot.

At the same time as the indictment, a request for detention until the end of the proceedings was filed against the accused, in which Attorney Erlich stated: “The respondent’s actions embody great danger, this is a respondent who with a cold and calculated plan studied the lifestyle of the deceased, carried out multiple day surveillance and chose the scene of the murder about two months before committing it . The respondent performed the acts calmly, methodically and thoroughly in a well-informed and planned manner. We are dealing with a brutal and merciless shooting. The deceased was shot in the back of his neck, chest, back, hand and leg in a way that left damage to most of the vital organs in his body, a shooting that led to the death of the deceased. With these actions, the respondent ensured the death of the deceased.”
