LA SPEZIA – The investigation into the disappearance in the Atlantic, off the coast of the Azores, of the sailing boat Bright, on which the skipper Aldo Revello, 52, and the sailor Antonio Voinea, 31, who left from Bocca di Magra, were sailing, restarts from Rome, after six years.

The investigating judge of the capital’s court, Daniela Ceramico, took up the case again by accepting the request to oppose the request to archive the case that had been opened in 2018 with the hypotheses of shipwreck and manslaughter and failure to assist ships or people in danger.

The opposition was presented by the lawyer Aldo Niccolini on behalf of the relatives of Antonio Voinea. The lawyer from La Spezia contested the thesis of the prosecutor Silvia Sereni who intended to close the judicial case after having examined only one lead that had turned out, however, to be fallacious: that of the ramming of the yacht, which sank.

The news was given by Corrado Ricci who wrote a long article published in the October 2024 issue of Nautica magazine, an international monthly navigation magazine, with the title “The mystery of the Bright”, an article which meticulously reconstructs what has taken on the intriguing and disturbing color of a mystery on the high seas. Worth reading.
