The National Assembly adopted in extremis Thursday 1is December in the evening a bill from the Republicans to fight against domestic violence, the oppositions withdrawing their amendments to allow this green light before midnight. Adopted by 41 votes for and 40 against, the text of the deputy LR of Lot Aurélien Pradié provides for the creation of a “court specialized in domestic violence”.

On the model of what exists in Spain, this jurisdiction would combine “the powers of the civil judge and the criminal judge”based on “on referents within each prosecutor’s office”, explained Mr. Pradié. Adopted at first reading, the proposal will be sent to the Senate, with a majority on the right.

The number of femicides increased by 20% in France in 2021 (122 against 102 in 2020). From 1is January 2022 to mid-November, 100 women have already been killed by the blows of their spouse, according to an associative collective.

accusing the government of« obstruction »the opposition deputies had withdrawn all their amendments to go directly to the vote before the end of the « niche » parliamentary LR, a day which allowed him to present his own texts.

“You stole the debate”

While only three amendments out of 57 had been examined, the LR deputies began by expressing their dissatisfaction to the two ministers present. “You shouldn’t engage in a game of obstruction week after week”lamented the boss of the deputies LR Olivier Marleix. “It’s recidivism and pure and simple sabotage”, abounded Aurélien Pradié, deploring “an absolutely detestable maneuver, moreover on a subject like this”. “You are doing everything so that we do not examine this text because you are afraid of being beaten”he added.

Then, the deputies asked for a suspension of the session at the end of which they announced that they were withdrawing their amendments. It’s about prosecuting in the Senate “the work of co-construction”underlined the deputy LFI Antoine Léaument. “So we can vote for it”abounded the ecologist Sandra Regol.

“Obstruction of the government? Not a single amendment here”replied the Keeper of the Seals, Eric Dupond-Moretti. “You sit on your own convictions to pass [ce texte] with forceps » whereas “on the composition, on the competence, you do not agree”he launched. “You stole the debate”he repeated several times, recalling that the government had announced in early September the launch of a parliamentary mission on the subject. “She could have said some interesting things”, he lamented. According to him, “this text is a danger, because it disrupts the courts”.
