The national deputy of the Commitment for Citizenship and Development (ECIDE) political party, Adolescence Ndomba announced, this Thursday, June 29, during a press conference, her resignation from Martin Fayulu’s party. According to this elected representative from Funa, his decision is motivated by the stance taken by the president of the party to “withdraw temporarily from the electoral process”.

“At the dawn of President-elect Martin Fayulu’s entrenched position to temporarily withdraw from the process, a position that I respect but from which I diverge, and after careful consideration, great is my sorrow to announce my departure from the ECiDé party. This decision is for the sole purpose of continuing my political fight that I lead for the general interest of the Congolese people. Be reassured that my vision of defending the interests of my compatriots, whatever the cost, remains intact and it is not circumscribed within the limits of a political formation. It remains universal and timeless. I would like here to express all my gratitude to the People’s Commander Martin Fayulu for his support and guidance,” said adoles Ndombasi.

On June 19, at a press conference, Martin Fayulu announced his decision to no longer take part in the electoral process under current conditions, calling for an external audit for more transparency and credibility of the elections, fearing electoral fraud. Subsequently, adolescent Ndombasi had written to him officially to protest against this decision, asking him to reconsider his decision.

The elected representative of Kinshasa, in the constituency of Funa, considered that without contesting the lucidity of the approach and the legitimacy of Fayulu’s demands for the holding of free, transparent and peaceful elections, that this temporary withdrawal from the electoral process is likely to open a vast boulevard to the “enemies of the Nation” whose only values are corruption, embezzlement, nepotism, clientelism, impunity.

“Your decision, solemnly announced during your last press conference on June 19, provoked strong reactions within the Congolese population who felt abandoned like a poor orphan like the inhabitants of North Kivu and Ituri who were counting on you to restore peace in eastern DRC”, he wrote.

During the opposition meeting last Sunday, Martin Fayulu made it clear that he was not boycotting the elections but he warned against chaotic elections. He also said he was ready to meet the president of the CENI to define the “rules of the game” before the electoral process.
