The national team began its first training session this evening, Sunday, in Doha, in preparation for the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The Iraqi Federation stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “the national team began its first training session this evening, Sunday, in Doha, in preparation for facing the Omani and Kuwaiti national teams in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.”
He added, “The training centers at Qatar University hosted the preparations of the Lions of Mesopotamia, with the participation of 18 players, including: Jalal Hassan, Ali Kazim, Hussein Hassan, Mohammed Qasim, Ahmed Yahya, Saad Natiq, Bashang Abdullah, Zaid Tahseen, Hiran Ahmed, Ahmed Makkenzie, Safaa Hadi, Mustafa Saadoun, Muhannad Ali, Akam Hashem, Hassan Abdul Karim, Louay Al-Ani, Amjad Atwan, and Manaf Younis.”
He pointed out that “the training session, which was attended by the member of the Iraqi Football Association, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, included various aspects and was under the direct supervision of the Spanish technical staff of our national team, led by Jesus Casas, and with a high temperature reaching 35 degrees and a high humidity rate reaching 63%. It is hoped that the national team will increase its training doses tomorrow, Monday, which will witness the participation of players Mohammed Al-Taie, Rebin Sulaka and Osama Rashid, along with their colleagues.”
In a related context, today the Spanish Alejandro Rossello Almagro, a physical therapy specialist, joined the national team delegation to be one of the additions to the medical staff of our national team.
