The national team concludes its training in Basra in preparation for tomorrow’s match against Oman

Today, Wednesday, the national team concluded its training in preparation for the match against Oman tomorrow in Basra.

The Iraqi Football Association said in a statement received by the (INA): “The national team concluded its training this evening, by holding an official training session on the grounds of Basra International Stadium in preparation for facing the Omani national team tomorrow, Thursday, at seven o’clock in the evening, as part of the launch of the third round (first round) of the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.”
The statement added, “The training witnessed the participation of all 26 players, and was attended by the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, the Second Deputy, Younis Mahmoud, the members of the Executive Office, Mohammed Nasser, Firas Bahr Al-Ulum, and Ahmed Al-Moussawi, the Secretary-General, Mohammed Farhan, and all of the players: Jalal Hassan, Ali Kazim, Hussein Hassan, Osama Rashid, Youssef Amin, Ahmed McKenzie, Safaa Hadi, Mustafa Saadoun, Hussein Ali, Ahmed Yahya, Ibrahim Bayesh, Amir Al-Ammari, Mohammed Al-Taie, Muhannad Ali, Ali Jassim, Manaf Younis, Saad Natiq, Zaid Tahseen, Zidane Iqbal, Rebin Sulaqa, Mirkhas Doski, Danilo Al-Saad, Louay Al-Ani, Amjad Atwan, Ali Al-Hamadi, and Ayman Hussein.
The training unit’s vocabulary focused on the method and style of play, and the application of the vocabulary of the duties assigned by the technical staff to each player and their diversity in different parts along the field sometimes and half the field at other times.
The statement added, “It is hoped that tomorrow’s match will witness a large crowd to support the Lions of Mesopotamia at the beginning of their qualifying journey for the 2026 World Cup, to constitute an incentive and moral motivation to win the match points.”
