Today, the National Union of Syrian Students launched the “Sila” platform, as the first interactive electronic platform for student servicesDuring a press conference in Rida Saeed Conference Hall, Damascus University.

The President of the National Union of Syrian Students, Darren Suleiman, confirmed that the launch of the platform comes within the framework of the union’s strategy based on visions, programs and mechanisms aimed at providing various student services and ensuring their sustainability in all public and private universities and institutes, indicating that the platform will be the link between the union and students to learn about their aspirations, opinions and concerns. Addressing the difficulties and problems they face, through the Union’s future plans and programmes.

Suleiman explained that the platform includes a set of services previously launched by the Federation with new additional services that will be supplemented later with more interactive services that the Federation is constantly looking for in order to provide it to students and meet their desires, in addition to that the “Sela” platform will enable the Union to reach distinguished students. In all disciplines and fields.

Suleiman pointed out that the platform is not only student services, but will contribute to placing the long-standing union organization on the track of digital transformation that all institutions, organizations and universities worldwide are heading to. Correct and organized measurement that contributes to the development of his work and performance, which reflects positively on students and the educational system in general.

Dr. Muhannad Okal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Development Corporation for Technical Solutions, gave a presentation on the technical aspects of the platform, which has two parts. The first is related to student services such as health insurance, electronic payment, student complaints, virtual training, specialized references, master’s theses, the Alumni Association, the business development platform and the graduation projects library, in addition to the electronic library. Guidance, support and student mail. The second part is related to the automation of all administrative work in the federation, which makes its work more flexible.

In turn, Ahmed Dawoud, Director of the “Sila” platform and Director of the Informatics Center in the Executive Office of the National Union of Syrian Students, pointed out that it will work to follow up students’ affairs, simplify the procedures they need, and deliver the greatest possible benefit by exploiting the electronic field to provide services optimally with ease and ease, indicating that A research library has been opened containing electronic research for the past three years for all Syrian universities, and work is underway to secure a group of external research that will benefit the student in his academic achievement.

Daoud also indicated that it is the result of an integrated work of all the elements in the union with the aim of reaching an application that serves all students and is in direct contact with them, pointing out that the link has become ready and available to all, and any student can apply for all the services on the platform after filling out the entry form and going through the stages of approvals necessary.

For his part, Imad Al-Omar, a member of the Executive Office of the National Union of Syrian Students and head of the Office of Studies and Student Issues, spoke about the preparations that preceded the launch of the platform, which took more than a year, and all efforts were concerted to facilitate all procedures for students and to facilitate permanent electronic communication with the leadership of the Union so that they do not have to review the headquarters The federation, as they can, through “Sela”, view all details related to the federation’s work and the services it provides, in addition to their ability to submit complaints electronically.

The launch of the platform was attended by members of the executive office of the National Union of Syrian Students, heads of the union’s branches in public and private universities and institutes, and the platform’s work team.
