The Nautic Almata campsite in Castelló d’Empúries has received the German award DCC-Europa Preis 2023, awarded by the Deutscher Camping Club (DCC), the leading association for campers in Germany, with around 85,000 members. These awards, created in 1996, are awarded annually to four European campsites and this year the winners are from Germany, Austria, France and the Almata campsite, as the chosen campsite in Spain. The award, given as part of the Reise-Camping Fair in the German town of Essen, recognizes the trajectory and quality of the Girona establishment.

The Nautic Almata campsite is celebrating its anniversary this year 50th birthday The establishment of the Girona counties is located next to the sea, in the natural environment of the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà and surrounded by canals and navigable rivers. It has up to 850 pitches, 100 accommodations, 127 moorings for boats, a large swimming pool area, a supermarket, a pub and a restaurant, among other services.

The management of Náutic Almata highlights that “this award accompanies our spirit of maintaining the essence of camping life with services of excellence“. The president of the Girona Camping Association, Miquel Gotanegra, points out that the camping awards are “a very important recognition of the work that the sector is doing and demonstrate the high level and excellence of the establishments”. “If we continue to lead the offer of the camping sector in Europe, it is thanks to the work of all the establishments”.
