The French frigate Auvergne entered the Black Sea, its actions are being monitored by the forces of the Navy, TASS reports, citing a message from the National Defense Control Center.

“The forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet have begun to control the actions of the guided missile frigate Auvergne of the French Navy, which entered the Black Sea,” the message says.

Earlier, Russian Su-27 fighters escorted two French fighters and a tanker aircraft over the Black Sea, which followed in the direction of the Russian state border. Over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, two tactical fighters “Mirage-2000” and “Rafale” were found, as well as a C-135 tanker aircraft of the French Aerospace Forces. This became known on December 9.

In November, the Ministry of Defense recorded an increase in the military activity of the United States and its allies in the region. The department reported an increase in the intensity of the actions of the naval forces, air and sea reconnaissance assets, as well as strategic aviation. In addition, the Ministry of Defense considers the unscheduled exercises of the United States and its allies in the Black Sea to be aggressive actions: they pose a threat to regional security, the military department says.
