Last month, Sony decided to make a dramatic move and open a library of games (under the name PS+). Why play? The game is among the last games in the series that keep the original gameplay and historical accuracy. It has been somewhat forgotten over the years due to the problematic launch that the game had: it came to market while suffering from a lot of bugs and crashes, which led to many players missing out on this game. Bonus fact: when Notre Dame burned down, diagrams and 3D models from the game were used to recreate it, so the game itself has a historical role as well.
As Dusk Falls

Hades

what is the game about Hades is a fast-paced action game with brutal difficulty where the player is expected to die hundreds of times before learning how to finish it. Hades, the Greek god of the underworld, is the hero’s dominant father, Shrek wants to get out of the underworld, run away from his father (who doesn’t understand him so much, and another second he goes to the room to get angry at him) and join his family that is waiting for him on Olympus. The trick here is that instead of death being a punishment, since the hero is an immortal god – this is an essential part of the progression process that helps reveal the full story.
Why play? This is an acclaimed game bursting with action and fast-paced battles in constantly changing dungeons. It is an addictive experience with an interesting story and a fun design that is a shame to miss. Bonus fact: especially for the game (and its excellent writing) a special category was opened at the Hugo Awards for fantasy and fantasy literature.
Prey

what is the game about A stressful and challenging action-horror game that also manages to ask existential philosophical questions without becoming tedious and annoying, which is an achievement in itself. In the game, you play Morgan Yu, a scientist who wakes up in his apartment and gradually discovers that it is a simulation. If that’s not enough, then a dangerous alien that is at the station where Morgan is, has escaped from his detention facility, killed most of the crew and is multiplying. And this is only the beginning of his troubles.
Why play? An interesting story with great twists, from the studio that brought us the hits Dishonored and Deathloop.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” team is known to us mainly from their two excellent films, but they also appeared in the “Avengers” films and even in “Thor: Love and Thunder”. From a fringe team in the Marvel Comics universe, the Guardians of the Galaxy have moved to the forefront and become one of the most beloved teams in the MCU, so obviously after the success of the Spider-Man games and the abysmal failure of the Avengers game, it only makes sense that we get a game for this gang as well. The plot of the game takes us back in time to the team’s first year together as they roam the cosmos after an intergalactic war has left its mark across the galaxy.
Why play? The gameplay is refreshing and fluid, the humor of the film series is fully preserved and the soundtrack – obviously the soundtrack is excellent.
Saints Row the Third/IV

what is the game about The developers of the game saw the success of Grand Theft Auto but also saw its cinematic pretensions and decided to go for the complete opposite: here the head of the criminal organization becomes the president of the United States with superpowers and fights aliens. Here is everything that is fun: An open world where you can do (yes, again) everything possible in GTA games – only more exaggerated. You can design the protagonist from A to Z, shoot enemies with crazy weapons, superpowers and all the other things that GTA’s director doesn’t allow.
Why play? There is no gaming experience more disrupted than this.
Ghost of Tsushima

what is the game about One huge tribute to samurai movies in general and Akira Kurosawa ones in particular (you can even play it in black and white). The game stars Jin, a samurai sworn to revenge on the Mongol fleet that invaded the island, which means you can expect a lot of sword fights and limbs flying through the air. You can also do everything a Japanese samurai does: help the local farmers, pet foxes, soak in baths and compose haiku. Yes really.
Why play? Although the game has been criticized for the anime of the protagonist, it pays a lot of respect to Japanese culture with a historical plot and beautiful poetic minimalism. The battles really make you feel like a samurai the more you master it. It is also one of the most visually beautiful games released in recent years and is worth downloading just to play with its rich Photo Mode, guaranteed enjoyment.
Doom Eternal

Why play? If you like fast, violent and bloody gameplay, this is the game for you. Every moment in this game feels like it’s on steroids and it’s a great and challenging experience, because in the new games it’s most important to keep moving and not stay still.
Mafia Definitive Edition

what is the game about This is a renewal of the classic game from the beginning of the 2000s, at the center of which is the taxi driver Tommy Angelo who joins organized crime and slowly rises through the ranks, in a story that is heavily influenced by several mafia movie classics – actually a little less “The Godfather” and more “The Good Guys” and “Were Times in America”. In the innovation, the 2K company basically built the entire game from scratch and kept only the original dubbing and the heavy Italian accents.
Why play? It’s a well-written story (except for a few lines of dialogue that are a bit outdated) and maintaining the original game style. If you’ve heard about the failed remakes of the GTA trilogy, don’t stress: this is not the case here.
Marvel’s Spider-Man + Miles Morales

what is the game about The first game more or less single-handedly established the (modern) Marvel gaming universe and presents an excellent origin story (almost, a little after) for Spider-Man, familiar villains from new angles and also slightly less familiar villains. The game is also quite simple to control, specifically to be accessible to couples where only one party comes with a background in gaming.
God of War
