Apple at the Wonderlust presentation presented a new generation of branded smart watches – the Watch Series 9 family and the flagship Apple Watch Ultra 2, which received technical updates while maintaining the same design and dimensions.
The accessory has a new processor, which is 30% more powerful than its predecessor, a brighter display, and the watch also received a larger battery – it is stated that the battery provides from one day of operation without recharging and up to 36 hours for the Watch Ultra 2. The updated UWB chip allows using the watch search for iPhone smartphones, whereas previously you could only search for watches using a smartphone.
The new generation of Apple Watch adds gesture recognition. The new processor and new sensors allow you to control some watch functions by double-clicking your thumb and forefinger together. In particular, this way you can accept or reject calls, as well as turn off or reschedule the alarm.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 also includes improved workout and activity tracking algorithms, custom watch faces, and advanced analysis capabilities for collected workout data.
Apple Watch Series 9 will hit the market in October, and new strap options will also be available along with the watch. The watch’s case, accessories and packaging are made from recycled and sustainable materials, and the watch is Apple’s first completely carbon-neutral product. The new product will be available in five colors of an aluminum case and three color options of a steel case starting at $399, and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will cost from $799.
