The Jerusalem Municipality and the Jerusalem Foundation are currently working on a mega upgrade of the Sultan’s Pool at a cost of approximately NIS 100 million. The Sultan Pool at the foot of the Old City in Jerusalem was established by the Ottoman Sultan during the 16th century and was used as a water storage pool. Since then, a lot of water has passed through the pool, but there was no pool there in our day.

As part of the project, the Jerusalem Municipality will turn the famous creative performance and outdoor complex into an active and interactive park that will be accessible to the public all year round. As part of the upgrade, the complex will include an ecological water pool, the preservation of the ancient dam and the aqueduct, the renewal of the famous pool next to which a cafe / restaurant will be built.

After the upgrade is completed, the pool will become an active and lively area all year round that will host many international concerts There is something to look forward to.”

Chairman of the Jerusalem Foundation, Shai Doron: “The project to restore and upgrade the Hatzur Streets and the Sultan’s Pool is a project of historical significance, in one of the most beautiful places in Jerusalem, at the foot of the Old City and at the connection between the east of the city and the west.
