The ‘Katapulta Tour Gipuzkoa’ program was created to promote and promote the talent of Gipuzkoa, to support small-format musical and performing arts projects. Even in this ninth edition, the Provincial Council and the Kutxa Foundation continue to support the initiative, “maintaining their strong commitment to help revitalize the scene in Gipuzkoa”, explained the two organizations.
The call for participation in the program will open on November 13th, and it will be possible to register until December 4th. The ten selected artists will be offered the opportunity to perform four performances in various spaces in Gipuzkoa; in addition, they will have financial compensation of 400 euros for each performance, as well as the opportunity to record a promotional video, to carry out a training program on communication and promotion, scenography, production, economy and taxation and to use the shared rehearsal spaces in the facilities of the Kutxa Foundation in Tabakalera for free.
In the previous edition, specific training and rehearsal spaces for selected proposals were added to the regular concerts; this year, this commitment is maintained, and the Kluba hall of the Kutxa Foundation will also be a stage space.
According to Ainara Guzman, who is in charge of the Kutxa Foundation, in this year’s edition “we support training more strongly”. In this way, everyone who registered in the call will be given the opportunity to participate in the workshops.
On the other hand, Goizane Álvarez, deputy for Culture, remembered artists who have gone through this program, including Izaro, Elena Setién, Sara Zozaya or Idoia Asurmendi. “We really believe in the power of culture and art to enrich our society and contribute to the vitality of the scene in Gipuzkoa,” he mentioned.
