Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 set a record for the number of gamers. The Digital Trends publication drew attention to this, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
According to journalists, Black Ops 6, which was released on October 25, which is the 21st game in the Call of Duty series, showed a record start. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, which owns game developer Activision, said Black Ops 6 set a record for the most players on its first day of launch.
Microsoft did not share specific numbers, but independent analyst Mat Piscatella said that the new Call of Duty game was launched by more than half of active gamers on the Xbox Series in the first three days after release – 52 percent. It was also played by 34 percent of active PlayStation owners. Piscatella called this phenomenon of popularity “crazy engagement.”
Analysts cited the inclusion of the game in Microsoft’s Game Pass gaming subscription as one of the main reasons for its success. With it, users get access to hundreds of games from the library for a fee. Black Ops 6 became the first Call of Duty game to be available via subscription on day one of release. In 2023, Modern Warfare 3 also made it to Game Pass, but was not available there immediately after release.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a first-person shooter video game. Its action takes place in 1991 after the outbreak of the Gulf War, the main characters are CIA agents.
