The Council of Ministers has just approved the relaxation of the conditions by which some workers may opt for early retirement, a measure that seeks to make it easier for people with certain disabilities to stop working. When this modification is registered in the BOE, it will be fully in force and it will be then when the Employees who have any of the following characteristics could request an early withdrawal with the right to a pension:
intellectual disability
Cerebral palsy
Genetic abnormalities (Down syndrome, Prader Willi syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, Osteogenesis imperfecta, Achondroplasia, Cystic Fibrosis, Wilson’s disease)
autism spectrum disorders
Secondary congenital anomalies or Thalidomide
Polio sequelae or post-polio syndrome
Acquired brain damage (craniocerebral trauma, sequelae of CNS tumors, infections or poisoning)
Mental illness (schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)
Neurological disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, leukodystrophies, Tourette syndrome, traumatic spinal cord injury)

People who prove a disability equal to or greater than 45%, being able to add the percentages of two different pathologies to reach or exceed that 45% threshold. The easing of the Government also reduces the minimum contribution time that these people must meet to retire early, passing this from 15 years to only 5 years.
With these exceptions, the Government seeks compensate for the lower life expectancy of those with a disability.
