On Friday, the centurions received their special awards in the Government.

Graduates who have passed the state matriculation exams (VBE) are traditionally honored by the Government for many years now, but this year this ceremony took place a little later than usual.

This means that the young people gathered at the celebration already know which doors will open in September, because the results of admissions to higher education institutions were revealed only a few days ago.

Of the 27,682 graduates who took the matriculation exams this year, as many as 1,181 students have 100 points on their certificates.

61 high school graduates who received 3 out of 100 marks from the state matriculation exams, 26 high school graduates who got 4 out of 100 marks, 8 high school graduates who got even 5 out of 100 marks were invited to the Government’s honor.

Also honored were 6 graduates who completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma program with the highest marks, and 3 graduates of vocational training institutions who passed not only the matriculation but also the qualification exams with high marks.

The recipe for success is obvious

The news portal itself lrytas.lt the interviewees in the Government showed relaxation and calmness – according to them, it is important to study consistently and responsibly, but you also cannot forget yourself and your well-being.

Danielė, a graduate of Marijampolė Marian Gymnasium, scored three hundred marks in her exams – in English, Lithuanian and literature and mathematics. The girl has already received her dream invitation to study architecture in Holland.

“I’m more accurate – additional lessons helped me with the Lithuanian language,” Danielė explained when asked if she was better at Lithuanian or mathematics.

The girl admitted that she tried to study well from the first days when she entered the school door.

“Of course, I think it is possible to achieve a lot in a shorter time, but those strong foundations helped me a lot and the path was much easier,” the graduate student thought.

However, Daniele is convinced that it is really impossible to devote all of your time to science alone.

“I myself have graduated from art school and dance, those things really help to combine relaxation with studies, so that the time spent studying is valuable,” the girl insisted.

Deimantė, who graduated from the Klaipėda Technology Training Center and majored in interior design, also agrees that it is extremely important to take care of your health and well-being.

“The exams were really easy – I thought it would take more effort. I can say that everything is possible if you go with a good attitude and self-belief – I managed to pass those tens, I graduated with honors and I’m really proud,” said the graduate student.

“I think the most important thing is to remember to take care of yourself, your health and not burn out. At the same time, think about the fact that science still provides benefits, and in order to achieve something in the future, you need to put in effort. Then you will be proud of yourself the way I am proud of myself now”, smiled Deimantė.

And here, Justina from Linkuva Gymnasium can boast of three hundreds – in Lithuanian language, English language and chemistry. The high school graduate has already enrolled in molecular biology at Vilnius University.

“Since the beginning of the academic year, I have worked consistently. At the end of the school year, there was a greater load, but it wasn’t terribly difficult,” she shared her impressions.

She wishes next year’s graduates not to worry too much if they are unable to devote all their time to studies.

“Because other activities are also important and you can divide your time in such a way that you can prepare for the exams and have time for yourself,” she suggested.

Juozas, a graduate of Klaipėda Lyceum, completed the international baccalaureate program, with three 7-point grades to his credit.

“You learn by doing. You don’t neglect other things either – you socialize, do sports. You need to study purposefully – not to sit at the books for 8 hours, but to try to understand everything, to use the time as efficiently as possible”, – the young man described his recipe for success.

Juozas said that he fully understands the excitement of next year’s graduates, but urged them to relax – according to him, there will always be choices in life.

“From what I heard, with intermediate checks grabbed very strongly, but I can only wish for the future that, if anything, there will be a delay. Or the military,” he said.

Rokas from Telšiai Žemaitė Gymnasium has four hundreds in his account – in mathematics, physics, information technology and chemistry. The guy has already enrolled in the program systems specialty at Vilnius University.

“There was some hesitation that it might be better to choose physics, but I think program systems are more promising,” he said.

Rock agreed that a significant number of his peers are afraid of the exact sciences, especially mathematics, but urged the future graduates to just study consistently and not be afraid.

“I don’t think it’s that much anymore wait. Gal to blame it would be better to have some biology or other science, but my recipe for success was to find out what I don’t know and always do everything consistently, not to miss any topics”, shared the guy.

KTU high school graduate Ėuolas, who has already enrolled in the aviation engineering major, won three hundreds. He did best in physics, mathematics and information technology exams.

“The other exams are also not bad: chemistry – 98 points, Lithuanian – 90, English also 93,” Ėuolas said.

Although he admitted that he did not devote much time to science during classes, self-study helped the graduate student, and the teachers also contributed a lot to his excellent results.

“I think it also depends on the person what he likes and succeeds in.” I myself am more successful and like the exact sciences, and it also depends on the teachers, how interesting they explain, how much attention they pay to the children”, Đžuolas thought.

When asked what advice he would give to those who will be in his place next year, the guy has a clear message – just try, learn and prepare.

S. Jurkevičius: imagine what it looks like

Saulius Jurkevičius, director of the Vilnius Lyceum, also came to the celebration at the Government. Here he accompanied as many as 25 lyceum centurions.

“This is a really big number. It can be said that a quarter of the lyceum is here. The peculiarity is that this year a particularly well-prepared show came out, but they were admitted to the school without entrance exams.

It’s like a change falling out of the common routine, but it showed that motivated students, in a good environment, can study in any school and results can be achieved in many places, if there is an aspiration to move forward”, S. Jurkevičius is convinced.

It is true that the festive mood of some high school graduates was somewhat soured by the news recently announced by the National Education Agency (NŠA) that the exam scores of 4 thousand high school graduates suddenly changed. 1000 of them are for the worse.

There are 18 such graduates at the Lyceum, although, admittedly, such a mistake even made some of them very happy.

“For some it decreased a little, for some it increased – there is one schoolgirl who got three hundreds out of two hundreds, and two out of one hundred.” Those results had an impact from various angles, both in terms of students and the prestige of education.

Because imagine if the certificate changes, how it all looks – some had already sent them abroad, it was necessary to send their matriculation certificates a second time, showing that something has changed.

We understand very well that it might have seemed rather frivolous”, thought the head of the Vilnius Lyceum.
