Instagram, one of the most used social networks, has had several updates in recent weeks and everything seems to indicate that its creators continue to add functionalities, such as the recent addition of text notes, available a few days ago.
At first glance, this functionality basically serves to set a temporary note in which users can leave a message to their contacts, something that avoids having to write to them one by one if you want the information to reach more than one.
The new notes share a similarity with the stories, as they expire after 24 hours. However, it has the peculiarity that the space is limited to 60 characters counting spaces, and you can only add letters, numbers and emojis.
It is striking that the social network implements this type of short message, since the axis of the social network has always been visuality through images and video, while this new format reminds us of Twitter tweets.
How to add a new note on Instagram?
If you are one of those who uses the application daily, even if you have not yet sent your first note, you will have noticed that in the profile photos of the friends with whom you are going to chat, a small text appears, those are the notes.
Adding a new note is very simple, you just have to click on the (+) symbol and write what you want, and to see all the notes that your contacts have uploaded you just have to slide to the right.
At the bottom you can choose who you want to share your note with. Although by default the option to share it with followers who you also follow is checked, you can also choose to make it visible only to your list of best friends.
When trying to reply to a note, the text sent will appear as a direct message to the person who posted the note, because these are public, but not the responses to them.
How can these notes be useful?
With this new functionality, Instagram considers mass communication among its users, providing them with another tool to reach more people, along with stories.
For Cubans, for example, social networks have become a space to make calls for attention or to ask for some type of help in the most diverse cases, such as searching for medicines that are in short supply in the country or locating food and supplies. , and these notes can help with that, since they are visible to all contacts if we wish.
There are those who are also already using this novelty to send motivational messages to their friends and others have not wasted their time and have seen in the notes a new way to attract the attention of someone specific whom they want to get closer to.
