“The new generation of Greek hoteliers contributes with their efforts to the upgrading of the tourist product, to the promotion of the identity of our destinations and is at the forefront of investment activity in Greece”, emphasized the Minister of Tourism Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni in her greeting at the ceremony consecration of the new hotel Mitsis N’U Piraeus Port of the Mitsis group on the site of the old “METACHA” distillery in the port of Piraeus.
As Ms. Olga Kefalogianni pointed out, the new hotel unit transforms into practice key objectives of the Ministry of Tourism’s policy as:
– Enhances sustainability by reusing building stock, and implementing environmentally friendly practices, ensuring energy efficiency and resource savings.
– It creates dozens of new jobs, in addition to boosting the construction industry and related activities during its construction phase.
– It contributes to the temporal and spatial expansion of tourist activity, as it operates all year round in a growing pole of tourist activity in Attica.
– Emphasizes the promotion of modern Greek culinary creation, Greek winemaking and brewing, as well as the utilization of Greek local products.
– It connects tourism with modern Greek culture, as works by Greek artists are a special element of the aesthetics of the area.
Finally, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni, after congratulating the Mitsis family for the creation of Mitsis NU Piraeus Port which, as she said, upgrades the tourism product of the wider area, wished the hotel to become a point of reference for the tourism of Piraeus and Attica.
