It comes to Rhodes at the Medieval Moat Theater on Friday August 2nd

The children’s stage of Christos Tripodis and the METHEXIS company present the new musical by Tassos Ioannidis, “Lahana and Hahana – My Good Self”. This contemporary production is accompanied by a brilliant cast of actors, a live orchestra on stage, impressive video projections, imaginative sets and colorful costumes, creating a spectacular theatrical experience for parents and children. Starting from the open theaters of Attica, the show will make a musical summer journey to all corners of Greece. A journey full of favorite songs from Lahana and Hahana, but also brand new songs – gifts of joy and well-being.

A few words about the project

Tasos Ioannidis’ new work “My Good Self” deals in a simple and direct way with the concepts of “self-love”, “self-sufficiency”, “self-esteem”, positive thoughts and suggests playful ways of managing negative emotions. Pippis, the Apprentice Fairy, along with Atsidas, Hachanenia and Lachanidas take us on a “little-trodden” path of searching for our… good self, through an original story with musical stops to the most loved songs of the “Lachana and Hachana” series , as well as brand new songs and happy playful songs, full of humor and …Kindness.

The “Sing and Learn” method becomes the “magic key”. Children discover that with music and singing as a vehicle, the learning process becomes a game. Will they manage to convince the adults too?

Cabbage and Hahana – Project background

It all started with an idea by the composer Tassos Ioannidis, to set the verses of the first grade book to music, in his attempt to help his young daughter Hermione learn them more easily. Thus, the first CD “LAHANA and HAHANA – 24 songs from the First Grade Language book” was born, with the participation of Maria Faradouri, Evgenios Spatharis and Ilias Mamalakis, which was destined to be loved by young and old! As if that wasn’t enough, another amazing idea came and stuck in the mind of the imaginative dad. In lyrics by Paulina Pamboudi and with the participation of Eleni Vitali and Glykeria, she performed “Propaedia se Tragoudia!” Yes, yes, as you hear it. And so that the younger children wouldn’t be left complaining, “Kindergarten is here!” soon followed. with songs for preschool children and the participation of Fotini Darras and Pantelis Thalassinos. This was followed by “Rhythms and Numbers” with the participation of Manolis Mitsias and Yiannis Kotsiras, “Tragoudosoulithres” with the participation of Miltos Pahalidis and Melina Aslanidou, “Christmas Cabbage and Hahana”, “Lullabies for 4 Seasons” with Christos Thibeos and Alkmeni Basakarou, the “12 Athletes of Hercules”, “The Grammar in Songs” and shortly, the new album “LAHANA and HAHANA – My Good Self.
