The new Prime Minister of France, Francois Bayrou, immediately after taking office, became record unpopular among the country’s citizens.

As Day.Az reports, this was reported by the Journal du Dimanche, citing a study conducted by the French Institute of Public Opinion IFOP.

“Bayrou broke all records for unpopularity at the start of the term, as 66% of the French do not support him,” the magazine notes.

For comparison, at the start of the term, his predecessors showed better results. Michel Barnier, for example, had 55% of the dissatisfied vote, while Gabriel Attal and Elisabeth Born had 46% and 43% respectively.

Also, according to the same study, 76% of citizens do not approve of the work of President Emmanuel Macron.

François Bayrou, 73, was appointed prime minister last week, replacing Michel Barnier, whose government lasted only three months due to a vote of no confidence supported by both right-wing and left-wing parties.
