The new rules for the use of restaurant vouchers risk changing the habits of their beneficiaries, and penalizing catering for the benefit of large retailers (Carrefour, Leclerc, Système U, etc.). From Saturday, the daily spending limit goes from 19 euros to 25 euros, “to promote its use”, according to a decree published in Official newspaper. Also new, in force from August until December 31, 2023: the use of these vouchers is authorized for the purchase of any food product, whether or not it is directly consumable (sandwich, fruit and vegetables, pasta, rice, frozen, etc.). This boost given to employees in a period of high inflation is however not very clear in their minds. Some are unaware. Others do not see the novelty: they are used to paying for their shopping in meal vouchers at their merchants, which is however prohibited.
