About a year ago I first encountered the new Ionic 5, at a launch that included driving south with a few stops and driving a few feet inside a kurkar trail, with height differences. This model, then as today, is very impressive, inside and out, its qualities, unique instrumentation and huge interior space are very noticeable, but terrain or trail capabilities – none. The few inches that elevated it to the status of a crossover model, were designed to give it some height and make it attractive.

A lot of energy gives the driver great pleasure, but brings him to a shorter, less driving range Of the 450 miles declared, with my driving character, less than 400 miles are realistic, this is the only compromise you will have to come to terms with in this version.

The cab is unusually spacious, and the storage spaces between the front seats (a console that moves back and forth, and a glove compartment that is actually a drawer) are exciting.

The high level of finish includes a light and white cab, and in daylight, if you open the sunroof, you will get a real sun terrace. In the back and front everyone will sit comfortably, and in the style of a business flight. There are not many family electric vehicles that give such a feeling.

Aside from the multimedia screen and dashboard, the handsome panel includes audio and air conditioning control switches. Everything else is operated from the touch screen. I can not state that the multimedia interface is intuitive. It is intriguing, it is attractive, it is beautiful, but it requires learning and adaptation. Human engineering is not without sophistication either. When you study the multimedia system, you will find that it is good and interesting, and includes every possible definition, it speaks Hebrew and has large and clear fonts.

The Ionic 5 has a long list of advanced safety systems, the most prominent of which is a system that works with the turn signal on. As soon as it is to the right or left, a real-time photo of everything that is happening on this side of the vehicle will be displayed on the dashboard. This is an ingenious and effective system even at night.
