The Japanese company Nintendo has announced a new version of the Switch console with an enlarged OLED screen and double the amount of memory. The console will be released on October 8, 2021 at a price of $ 349.9 – $ 50 more than the original version, released in 2017. In Russia, pre-orders will open on July 15 at a price of 30.5 thousand rubles.
The new Nintendo Switch will feature a 7-inch diagonal, an improved sound system, 64GB of storage, a flexible stand and a wired network port. For comparison, the original version had a 6.2-inch display, 32GB of storage, and was connected to the network via Wi-Fi. The Verge confirmed that the new console does not have new technical characteristics compared to the original – previously Bloomberg reported that the new Nintendo Switch will receive support for 4K resolution, but this did not happen.
