Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Pharmacology Department. Saidur Rahman.
The health education and family welfare department of the Ministry of Health has issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday (August 27). Professor Dr. Saidur Rahman outgoing vice chancellor Md. Succeeding Nurul Haque.
According to the notification, with the approval of the chancellor and president of the university, Professor Dr. Saidur Rahman, Chairman, Department of Pharmacology, BSMMU, Dhaka has been conditionally appointed to the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
As per the terms and conditions, his term of appointment as Vice-Chancellor will be 04 (four) years. Also, as Vice-Chancellor he will be entitled to pay and allowances equivalent to his current post and he will complete the remainder of the Vice-Chancellor’s term after completing the formalities of retirement from the original post on the completion of regular service.
Apart from this, according to the new vice-chancellor rules, he will enjoy other benefits associated with the post of vice-chancellor. However, the notification also mentions that the chancellor of the university can cancel the appointment at any time if necessary.
