The next iPhone will arrive from India right at launch

by time news

According to a report by analyst Ming Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 will be the first Apple smartphone to arrive from factories in India from the very first day, at the same time as the existing production in China.

This is of course not the first iPhone that Apple produces in India, but until today the production rate in the factories that the company chose was several months behind compared to the factories in China. This is the first time that a new iPhone is produced in factories in both countries at the same time.

Manufacturing in India is doubly important for Apple. In the immediate term, it will allow the company to market its devices in the giant country with available inventory and at cheaper prices, thus enjoying rapid growth in sales. During the second quarter of 2022, Apple reported sales of 1.2 million devices in India, an increase of almost one hundred percent from the previous year. In the tablet category, a significantly greater growth was recorded in India than in the rest of the world, with a 34 percent increase in sales of the various iPad models.

Second, against the backdrop of the geopolitical tensions between the US and China, it allows Apple to optimally prepare for a scenario that is not entirely unlikely in which, due to the restrictions that will be imposed, the company will no longer be able to rely on its factories in China for the supply of its devices.
