Islamabad: It is reported that Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan may be arrested today. Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had launched an investigation into allegations of irregularities in the receipt of foreign funds for his own party Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

Various media are reporting that the FIA has formed a four-member team for the arrest and has sought final approval from the director general.

The case alleges that Imran and ten others violated the Foreign Exchange Act by using an account in a private bank. PTI founder Akbar S. Babar was the first to file a complaint in this regard in 2014. It is alleged that huge sums of money were received from foreigners in the name of the party without showing the sources.

At the same time, the court action against Imran Khan is continuing due to the case taken during the protests against the Election Commission.
