The notice from the National Police if you receive an email like this: “Ignore and delete”

by time news

The National Police has alerted this Wednesday of a scam attempt through a message or an email with which impersonates Amazon with the claim of a gift.

“If you receive a message or an email similar to this, you should know that the only thing they can give you is disgust,” the agents have pointed out on Twitter.

An image is attached to the publication in which you can see the appearance of the message and the text so that users do not fall for the deception.

With the business “AMZ: WE TRIED TO CONTACT YOU EARLY!”, the email includes images of Amazon headquarters and the url ‘amazon.es’ and reads as follows: “Congratulations, you are eligible for a reward (to be claimed at your local Amazon store) . The Amazon team selects a few lucky winners who will receive a gift from us. Many exclusive gifts for you, including 100 euro gift cards, electronic devices of all kinds… and many more. If you have received this email, click here to see if the store closest to you is included.”

The email includes a potentially malicious link typical of an identity theft email (also known as phishing). This is usually an email that looks legitimate, but is actually an attempt to obtain personal information or steal money from you.
