The number of victims of poisoning with surrogate alcohol in the Orenburg region increased to 26 people, another 28 people were injured, the regional Ministry of Health told RIA Novosti. As specified in the department, people who were in serious condition died, who were taken to the hospital already in a coma.
All the victims live in the eastern districts of the region, the Ministry of Health said. After the mass poisoning, two criminal cases were initiated under Part 3 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (production and sale of goods that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of more than two persons by negligence).
