As of January 1, 2024, 81 oil and gas fields have been identified in Azerbaijan.
This is stated in SOCAR’s annual report for 2023, Day.Az reports.
It was noted that hydrocarbon production is underway at 58 fields, and 23 fields, for one reason or another, are not involved in development or their development has been suspended.
39 fields under development are located onshore Azerbaijan, and 19 fields are offshore.
As of January 1, 2024, 30,148.16 thousand tons of oil, 48,301.32 million cubic meters of gas were produced from exploited fields throughout the republic during the year, and since the beginning of development – 2,214.2 million tons of oil and condensate and 1,031.9 billion cubic meters of gas. Including from onshore fields, 1,438.83 thousand tons of oil and 209.64 million cubic meters of gas were produced over the year; since the beginning of development – 985 million tons of oil and condensate, 140 billion cubic meters of gas; 28709.33 thousand tons of oil, 48091.68 million cubic meters of gas, since the beginning of development – 1229.2 million tons of oil and condensate, 891.9 billion cubic meters of gas.
