The number of prisoners rises to 106 after attacks in RN

A Secretary of Public Security of Rio Grande do Norte (RN) released a new balance, this Saturday, 18, with the number of prisoners and apprehensions after four days of criminal attacks in various regions of the state.

The police confirmed the arrest of 106 suspects of participating in actions led by a criminal faction. Among them, three are teenagers, 11 are fugitives from justice and two have electronic anklets.

In all, 31 firearms, 4 simulacra, 87 explosive devices, 23 gallons of gasoline, 11 motorcycles, two vehicles, as well as money, drugs, ammunition and stolen goods were seized.

Joint operations by the Civil, Military and Federal police are trying to contain the wave of attacks in the state. According to the Secretariat of Public Security, acts of vandalism are coordinated by a criminal faction led by José Kemps Pereira Araújo, 45, known as Alicate. The suspect was transferred to the federal prison of Mossoró, last Tuesday 14.

Since the dawn of March 14, at least 45 cities have been targeted by attacks. Public and private buildings were vandalized and vehicles from the public transport fleet were set on fire.
