According to the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports, Justos Nugaras, the biggest decrease in the number of applicants was felt by the colleges that adhered to the lower admission score.

“The College of Social Sciences felt this very clearly – a decrease of about 60 percent compared to last year. Somewhere else – 20, 30 percent. Some state colleges felt that this reform was coming, so they kept the (higher – ELTA) score last year, and they felt a smaller decrease, and those that did not, a bigger one,” the LRT portal says.

According to the vice minister, Šiauliai College was successful.

“Šiauliai college looks good, it accepted almost 600 students. But they always said that they were thinking about a merger, because a larger entity would allow to achieve better results”, said J. Nugaras.
