The NVIDIA RTX 4090 benchmark sets a record! Twice Faster Than RTX 3090

by time news

NVIDIA is preparing to introduce a new generation of its graphics cards. After multiple constraints in the semiconductor industry and price hikes, the situation has improved. Previous generations of RTX suffered from shortages and increased demand driven by scripting needs. Despite this, the company has continued to develop the next generation and may unleash new graphics cards soon. The new generation will come with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 at the helm, and it looks like the performance will be impressive.

Tipster kopite7kimi, a household name when it comes to graphics cards, gives some details about the new generation. According to him, the new GPU passed the 3DMark Time Spy Extreme benchmark and scored around 19,000 points. For comparison, the ASUS TUF RTX 3090 scored 9,733 points in Time Spy Extreme. This means that, in terms of theoretical operating points, the performance of the NVIDIA RTX 4090 will outperform the RTX 3090 almost twice. The folks at IT also confirmed the iGame GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Water God graphics card from Colorful. The GPU ran the same as the Time Spy Extreme test, scoring 11,566 points, making the RTX 4090 1.64x faster.

According to rumors, NVIDIA will reveal the new RTX 40 series graphics cards soon. Release may occur between September and October. The NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU will be the star of the show and the best performing model. However, there are also other models in the pipeline. The upcoming GPUs already have some leaked details, which we can see below:

Nvidia RTX 4090

  • Model GPU AD102-300-A1,
  • 16384 FP32 Core,
  • GPU frequency up to 2750MHz,
  • Video Memory 384-bit 21Gbps 24GB GDDR6X
  • Power consumption 450 watts

RTX 4080

  • AD103-300-A1 GPU Model
  • 10240 FP32 Core
  • Video Memory 256-bit 21-bit 21Gbps 16GB GDDR6X
  • Power Consumption 420 Watt

RTX 4070

  • GPU Model AD104-275-Kx-A1
  • 7168 FP32 Core
  • Video Memory 160-bit 18Gbps 10GB GDDR6
  • Power consumption is 300 watts.

We also expect NVIDIA to reveal “cheaper” laptop-focused GPUs. We will probably see the RTX 4060 and 4050 appear sometime in 2023. The RTX 4090 Ti may also be launched in the near future with tuned performance. However, it is important not to hold your breath for these secretions. It will be announced, but getting it, as usual, will be a different story. We expect the same massive demand with short supply. The RTX 3090 Ti, for example, was announced in January but it took until March for it to actually be “launched” on the market. It was launched alongside the cheaper and more affordable RTX 3050.
