The world’s oldest person, Venezuelan Juan Vicente Pérez Mora, has died at the age of 114, AFP reported, citing authorities and his family.

“Juan Vicente Pérez Mora entered eternity at the age of 114. This man, a native of El Cobre, brought Venezuela a longevity record awarded by Guinness World Records,” President Nicolás Maduro said on the social network ex, formerly known as Twitter.

On February 4, 2022, the Venezuelan, then 112 years and 253 days old, was officially recognized as the world’s oldest man, according to the Guinness World Records website. This was reported by BTA.

Mora is the father of 11 children and has 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The farmer was born in El Cobre on May 27, 1909. He was the ninth child in a family of ten.

From the age of 5, he began working with his father and brothers in agriculture and helping harvest sugar cane and coffee, Guinness World Records said after awarding him the honor.
