/ The Executive Office of the Iraqi Olympic Committee decided, on Sunday, to name office member Khalil Yassin as supervisor of the training camps for the Iraqi Olympic football team during its upcoming Asian journey qualifying for the Paris Olympics.
The Second Vice President of the Iraqi Olympic Committee, Samir Al-Moussawi, told Agency, “The Executive Office of the Olympic Committee approved the assignment of Executive Office member Khalil Yassin to be a supervisor of the Iraqi Olympic team’s under-23 camps in Basra and Qatar, which is preparing to enter the Asian qualifiers next April.” In Qatar, which qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics.”
For his part, Radhi Shenaishil, coach of the Olympic team, said, “We have presented a complete program for the federation’s Olympic preparations, which includes two training camps, the current one in Basra and lasting for ten days, and a short one in Qatar a few days before the start of the tournament, which will include a friendly match that is included in the preparation program for the finals, which will be held in mid-April.” Next in the State of Qatar.
Shenaishil confirmed to Agency, “The Iraqi Olympic team will meet its Japanese counterpart in a friendly match on the 11th of next April in a match that we are counting on a lot before entering the Asian competitions. It will be an important match for us technically before entering the official matches.”
The Iraqi Olympic team will play in the 2024 AFC U-23 Cup scheduled for Qatar next April, within the third group, which includes alongside it the teams of Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan and Thailand.
