On the occasion of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games, the “Olympic House of Azerbaijan” was opened at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France.
As reported by Day.Az with reference to AZERTAC, the opening was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Farid Gayibov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Azer Aliyev, Vice President of the NOC Chingiz Huseynzade, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France Leyla Abdullayeva, Ambassador of Turkey to France Yunus Demirer, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to UNESCO Elman Abdullayev, Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy, representatives of the Olympic committees of many countries, the local community and the Azerbaijani diaspora, journalists.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to France Leyla Abdullayeva and NOC Vice President Chingiz Huseynzade reported that our country is represented by 48 athletes in 15 sports at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games. Informing about the Olympic history of the republic, they noted that Azerbaijan, as an independent country, first took part in the Olympic Games in 1996. Since then, Azerbaijani athletes have achieved great success at the Olympic Games. Confidence was expressed in the successful performance of Azerbaijani athletes at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games.
It was noted that the main goal of the “Azerbaijan Olympic House” during the 33rd Summer Olympic Games is to promote and popularize our history, culture, music, and cuisine. The victories of Azerbaijani athletes will also be celebrated here. Thematic days will be organized daily in the “Azerbaijan Olympic House”. Here, everyone who loves Azerbaijan will be able to watch the successes of our athletes, and meetings of fans with Azerbaijani Olympians will be held.
During the event, publications of the Azerbaijan Olympic Committee were presented and distributed to the participants.
In conclusion, Azerbaijani music was performed by the young singer Mardan Kazimov.
