The mother of an 11-year-old boy who died of frostbite in Dubna near Moscow, too late filed a complaint about the disappearance of the child with the police, because of this time wasted. This was reported to RBC by Ksenia Mishonova, the ombudsman for the rights of the child in the Moscow region.

According to her, the boy with disabilities confused the buses, took the wrong route, got out and got lost. The Ombudsman explained that due to his illness, he could not get in touch and ask for help.

According to her, the school notified the child’s stepfather that he did not come to school, after which a search was undertaken.

“Unfortunately, the statement to the police from the mother of the child was received only at 17:20. Then additional searches were already organized with the participation of Lisa Alert volunteers. It seems that it was too late to contact the police and precious time was wasted, ”she said.
