“The game is not over” Fifteen days after the end of the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games take place.
Starting on Thursday, August 28 with a party outside the stadium, between the Champs-Élysées and the Place de la Concorde. Thomas Jolly, director of the Paris 2024 celebrations, will present 5,000 athletes from 168 delegates on “the most beautiful track in the world”.
To lead the French delegation, the athletes chose Alexis Hanquinquant triathlete and sports champion Nantenin Keïta as standard bearers. Once they reach the Place de la Concorde, the athletes will find themselves in the center of the arena surrounded by spectators. Within the four stages arranged around the Obelisk, dance and music performances will take place.
The Swede Alexander Ekman is in charge of the choreography of the ceremony. For the ceremony, 150 dancers, including 20 disabled, will mark the evening. It is in the Concorde that we will carry out the evening ceremony: among the speeches, the raising of the flags and the lighting of the basin in the Tuileries.
The opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games of Paris 2024 will take place on Thursday, August 28 from 8 pm and will be broadcast live on France 2. It will also be followed live with commentary on leparisien.fr
