For the first time in history, the opening of the Paralympic Games takes place outside the stadium – the entire spectacle and show is created on Santarvė Square, and the delegations of the countries enter it from the Champs Elysees avenue.
A total of 4,400 Paralympians representing 168 countries will compete in the Games from August 28 to September 8.
Our country’s athletes entered Santarve square in the 90s.
Our country’s tricolor was carried by swimmer Gabrielė Čepavičiūtė and athlete Donatas Dundzys during the opening ceremony.
