The Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan are being held in Baku from April 23 to April 26, 2024, Day.Az reports.
As part of a series of events of the Kyrgyz Cinema Culture Days, the opening ceremony was held at the Nizami Cinema Center. The event was attended by prominent public figures, representatives of culture and art of the two countries.
In his speech at the evening, Deputy Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Murad Huseynov spoke about the historical friendly relations between the Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz peoples.
Speaking about the ties between filmmakers of the two countries, the Deputy Minister emphasized that at the III International Film Festival of the Turkic World “Korkut Ata”, held in Baku in 2023, the film “Tanrıverdi”, representing Kyrgyzstan, won in the “Best Director” category.
It was noted that the cinema of Kyrgyzstan is developing, films are winning success at international film festivals.
“We hope that the visit of Kyrgyz filmmakers to our country and the screening of their films will contribute to cooperation in this area,” noted Murad Huseynov.
First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Timurlan Azhymaliev noted that cinema is of great importance in the cultural and humanitarian cooperation of the two countries.
It was emphasized that the program of the Kyrgyz Cinema Days includes films by modern directors of the country, which is also important from the point of view of familiarizing the Azerbaijani audience with the modern thinking of Kyrgyzstan.
Next, the audience was presented with the film “Paradise Under the Feet of Mothers” directed by Ruslan Akun.
It should be noted that a photo exhibition dedicated to the cinema of Kyrgyzstan also opened at the Nizami Cinema Center
