Last Monday, October 30th, Competition No. 1/2023 was published for the hiring of a specialized engineering company for the construction work of the annex blocks of the Malês campus. In this way, another step was taken towards the expansion of Unilab, through the Malês campus in Bahia, after the formalization of the Decentralized Execution Term (TED) No. 12282 in August 2023, following all legal stages of planning and preparation of the bidding process, initiated on the Malês campus, via Seplan and DIAMCM, and carried out by the team of the Dean of Administration and Infrastructure (Proadi).
The resumption of works and completion means improvement and increase in physical spaces to be made available for undergraduate, research, extension and administrative activities. This is because each building consists of a total of 4 floors (ground floor + three), with a built area of 5,152.36m², 12 classrooms, 26 teaching laboratories, administration rooms, library with capacity for around 21,600 volumes, bathrooms ( male, female and adapted) on each floor, in addition to a large space such as a common area and canteen (on the ground floor).
The magnificent rector of Unilab, Prof. Dr. Roque Albuquerque highlighted the important role of the Malês management in this achievement that belongs to the entire university. “The community knows the number of petitions and efforts we made. In this sense, I believe that the Malês Management [também] made a good move. It is necessary to recognize this, that the Malês Management did a good job. He used political influence, together with the Malês community, and combined with a joint effort by Unilab, he had the necessary strength to go against this scrapping of the university. Now is the time to really celebrate together. I don’t see any other better reason than this: knowing that the Malês works will continue”, he said, adding: “It is our commitment to follow this entire process step by step, trying to prevent any inconvenience, anything that could bring any harm to the community. So, congratulations to the Malês community for this progress that belongs to the entire Unilab”.
For the Malês Management, this is a new moment of hope and overcoming structural problems. “The publication of the bidding notice for the resumption of the suspended work on the Malês Campus heralds a new moment of hope in the consolidation and expansion of our activities. It is an important step to resolve historical structural problems and ensure the fulfillment of Unilab’s mission in Bahia, through teaching, research and extension, with dignity and justice. We would like to thank all the people who worked dedicatedly to get us this far, especially the teams at Proadi, Seplan and the Malês Campus Administration Division. We thank the Rectory for determining the priority of this process”, highlighted the director of the Malês Campus, Prof. Dr. Mírian Reis.
According to the Notice published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Monday, the delivery of Proposals will take place from 10/30/2023, at 8:30 am on the website www.gov.br/compras. The opening of Proposals will be on 11/16/2023, at 9:30 am, on this site. The notice and link to access the administrative process are still available at institution page.
In accordance with the legal deadlines set for the competition, the expectation is that the contract will be signed in December 2023, as well as the service order.
