New Delhi: In order to control air pollution in Delhi, the decision to make pollution control certificate mandatory for filling petrol and diesel has been put on hold.

Vehicles are a major contributor to air pollution in Delhi. It is mandatory for all vehicles to have pollution control certificate. Vehicle owners who do not have a proper pollution control certificate are liable to a fine of Rs 10,000 or imprisonment up to 6 months, or both, under the Motor Vehicle Act. At the same time, surveys suggest that more than 17 lakh vehicles in Delhi do not have proper pollution control certificates.
In this case, the Delhi government took an important decision to control air pollution. You can get petrol and diesel in stocks only by showing the certificate that the pollution control is under control. The plan was to come into effect from yesterday (October 25).

However, the Delhi government has stayed this order. In this regard, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Roy said that the petrol and diesel association executives held a consultation with the government. At that time, they said that there is a possibility of confusion at the petrol pumps due to the new scheme. Thus, the order that pollution control certificate is mandatory for refueling is suspended. Petrol and Diesel Association executives have given many suggestions. He said that he will consult with Chief Minister Kejriwal in this regard.
