The Dodoni Festival is an important cultural institution for the entire region of Greece and already counts seven years of a successful course where the community of the wider region has had the opportunity to get in touch with wonderful events.

As every year, the organization is organized by the Municipality of Dodoni with the help of the Ministry of Culture, which offers both sponsorship and patronage to a high-quality institution that attracts a large number of visitors to the wider region every year.

This year’s programme, of the 8th Dodoni Festival, will open on Friday, July 26, with the National Theatre’s big production, Aeschylus’ “Oresteia”, directed by the famous Theodoros Terzopoulos with a large group of 35 actors. . The show will be presented a few days after the world premiere in Epidaurus.

The Macau Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Stephen Lam Lik Hin will be in charge on Monday 29 July. The orchestra comprises 70 musicians and the internationally renowned soloist Jessica Hoi Yan Ching stands out. Among others, works by Weber, Wagner and Beethoven will be heard.

On Tuesday, July 30, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy another play by Aeschylus, “Iketides”, which is being staged in a joint production by the Karolos Koun Art Theater and the New World Theatre. All the events will take place in the ancient theater starting at 21:00.
