The Orfeón sings today at the National Auditorium in Madrid and on Sunday, in Baigorri

Today the Orfeón Donostiarra will offer a recital with Verdi’s ‘Requiem’ at the National Auditorium in Madrid together with the Santa Cecilia Orchestra as part of the Fundación Excelentia season. And on Sunday, he will travel to the French-Basque town of Baigorri where he will offer a program with organ and accordion.

Today the San Sebastian choir will be accompanied by the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra and under the direction of José Antonio Sainz Alfaro. The soloists will be soprano Verónica Tello, tenor Azer Zada, mezzo-soprano Martina Mikelic, mezzo-soprano and bass Andrea Vittorio de Campo.

Regarding the concert next Sunday in Baigorri, the choir will feature organist Gerardo Rifón in the first part of the repertoire and accordionist Juan Pablo Lizarza in the second. The concert is part of the cultural activities organized by the local association Basaizea.

The program includes works by Bach, Gabriel Fauré, Leonard Cohen, Pau Casals, Javier Busto, Aita Madina, Pablo Sorozábal and Benito Lertxundi, among others.
