The Military Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of Khushkadam Solikhov, a citizen of one of the Central Asian republics, who was previously sentenced to 21 years in prison, Interfax reports, citing the FSB Public Relations Center.

Solikhov was found guilty of organizing and leading a cell of the Islamic State terrorist organization banned in Russia. The cell was created to organize terrorist attacks in Moscow, its activities were suppressed in 2016, the participants were arrested and sentenced to long terms of imprisonment.

“During the investigation, a large amount of automatic weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices, which they intended to use to shoot residents and organize explosions, were seized from them,” the FSB said.

However, Solikhov himself was detained only in October 2020. The Second Western District Military Court sentenced him to 21 years in prison. “During the investigation, the guilt of the person involved in the commission of the incriminated crimes has been fully proven. The convict confessed to the facts of his criminal activity, ”the DSP said.

After the decision of the court of appeal, the verdict entered into legal force.
