On July 14, members of Guinean employers chatted about the 1st edition of the Guinean Economic Forum. The comic operators want to boost the business world in Guinea.
The Guinean employers’ organizations decided, when the CNRD arrived, to put egos aside, to speak with one voice. More than a year later, the “unified” employers are now looking to move forward. Its members plan to organize the Guinea Economic Forum on July 19, 20 and 21. On July 14, the organizers were in front of the reporters to chat about the event. The FEG 2023, according to them, is intended to be a creative, transversal economic forum, which will bring out the potential that Guinean employers hold: “We said to ourselves as entrepreneurs, we must put ourselves in a logic of creation. We know that forums of this kind currently abound, but the FEG wants to be creative and original. Actors in the economic sector, Guinean or foreign, can meet in this space to map out the business world in Guinea. They can also present the ecosystem and new opportunities,” says Alice Doré, the FEG’s Commissioner General.
The theme of this first edition? “Economic rebuilding in a period of transition, challenges and perspectives”. According to Alice Doré, the debates will revolve around nine themes. Four could particularly occupy the minds: agriculture, industry, trade or innovation. Guinean employers are trying to see to what extent foreign investors, who will participate in the FEG, be encouraged to invest in these sectors in Guinea: “Panelists will discuss and present the opportunities that Guinea offers to the sub-region, but also to the international. The opportunities abound”.
The FEG will also offer coaches the opportunity to follow training courses. History of minimizing the risk of loss: “Who talks about entrepreneurship talks about risks. Financial capacity alone is not enough,” adds Alice Doré. A truism!
